Born in Istanbul, I obtained my BSc. and M.Sc. degrees from Electrical and Electronical Engineering Department of the Istanbul Technical University and my Ph.D. from the Integrated Systems Laboratory (IIS) of ETH Zurich. I am a senior scientist in the Digital Circuits and Systems Group of Integrated Systems Laboratory and the director of the Microelectronics Design Center of ETH Zurich. I have worked on all levels of digital design, efficient implementations of cryptographic functions in hardware and globally asynchronous and locally synchronous systems (GALS) as well as energy efficient processor systems.
