The Institute

The Integrated Systems Laboratory (IIS) is a research and education unit of the Department of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH Zurich).

IIS is a collection of research groups with common interests in the area of micro- and nanoelectronics.  Research activities at the institute are interdisciplinary, spanning from core electrical engineering and device physics to materials research and health sciences.  Key research themes are: integrated circuits, senors systems, energy efficient computing, optoelectronic devices, and energy storage technology.  The research groups operate independently, but share administrative, computing, and technical infrastructure.  IIS runs the Microelectronics Design Center at ETH.
